Dose SEO realy work? Marketing SEO talk

SEO Marketing or Search Engine Optimization not only works but in fact is highly effective and has been responsible for transforming many unknown web sites into popular destinations on the World Wide Web today.

To date no other online marketing tools or methods have proved to be anywhere near as effective as SEO marketing techniques. This is hardly surprising when a vast majority of the traffic that visits web sites is still coming from search engines. SEO marketing is centered on search engines and focuses on optimizing search engine rankings.

In recent times the main search engines have been constantly changing and modifying their rules and at times, this has caused great panic amongst many web masters. In some instances changes introduced by leading search engines have caused their ranks to slip to oblivion thus wiping out their daily traffic instantly. This has been distressing more so because web masters quite often spend a lot of time and money on SEO marketing to get their web sites to climb the ranks in search engines.

This is one of the reasons why one should be very careful when appointing somebody to work on their SEO marketing. There are many techniques which bring quick results but are definitely not in the long term interests of the web site and its' owner. People need to understand that the aim of the search engines is to ensure that the search results their users get are as complete and accurate as possible, in terms of the keywords used.

Ways to Get Maxi Traffic to Your Blog and sites

Helpful search engine optimization articles to increase your sites max potential search engine rank and traffic. Learn from the best of experts and marketing consultants.

You've put a lot of work into your blog, and you put more in every day. But without a steady stream of traffic, no one's the wiser. Use these seven tips to get more traffic to your blog.

1) Do your SEO and keyword research homework.
Make sure the HTML of your site is search engine friendly. Here's a basic search engine optimization checklist:
• Do your post titles have appropriate keywords? • Do your anchor links have keywords in them? Using “here” as a link is a missed opportunity. • Does your domain name include a primary keyword?

2) Submit your site to the 1st and 2nd tier engines like Google, Yahoo, Dmoz, MSN and Looksmart, and to the blog directories.
Here's a short list of sites that offer free blog listings:
Blog Search ht*p://
Technorati ht*p://
Bloglines ht*p://
Blogdex ht*p://
Blogwise ht*p://
WeBlogALot ht*p://
Globe of Blogs ht*p://
BlogHop ht*p://
Blogarama ht*p://

3) Ping like you mean it.
This is a way for you to raise your hand to the blog trackers when you've posted new content. You can do it site by site at places like Technorati, or go to Ping-o-matic ( ) and mass-ping your blog to over 20 sites. Make sure your blog is set up to ping the appropriate sites every time you publish a post.

4) Feed your RSS.
Make sure your blog has one and that it's working. An RSS feed is a bit of XML that allows your blog to push content to RSS readers. That way people don't have to visit your site to get your latest insights – they just open their RSS reader and read the news. If your blog is at , don't worry about an RSS feed – its already been created for you. If you're not at and your current blog doesn't have RSS functionality, visit and sign up for their free service that will set up an RSS feed from any website (blog or not).

5) Swap links.
Make a list of relevant sites you'd love to link to your blog. Write them a short friendly note and offer to let them use a few of your posts as content on their site in exchange for a link back to your site. Also, link to their sites from within one of your posts. Be sure to offer to exchange links in the links section of your blog. Most blog software programs offer this. There are also sites that special in helping bloggers swap links. Web Log Empire ( w* ) is a large one. If you're willing to pay for a link to your site, check out Text-Link-Ads ( w* )

6) Be part of the blogging community.
Go to other blog sites you admire. Contribute to their blogs in ways that add real value. Write good, thoughtful comments that are content rich. Give away what you know. Do it a lot – at least 3 posts a week. Over time you'll become recognized as someone who has something worthwhile to say. As your reputation grows, people will seek out your blog.
This is not an overnight process, but by paying your dues and building an audience you are positioning yourself to become a star. By the way, if your site doesn't have the functionality for visitors at add comments, Haloscan ( w* ) is a free service that will let them do so. It also allows for “trackbacking”, which is a way to manage pings.

7) Write your blog!
Put everything you've got into it. Make it great. Post as frequently as you can. The search engines will note frequent postings. A blog that has a new post every day is obviously more active – and important – than a blog that was set up in 2003, has 4 posts, and has been dead since 2004. To really make your blog get noticed you'll need to post at least 2-3 times a week.

Good ways to make links popularity gain back traffic

For more traffic back to your site and also gain back quality links you need to do some steps and this seem the fist step every webmster doing
Link Exchanges

Link exchanges if done properly can also help your website to top the charts for your keywords in the search engines. The idea here is not to exchange links with every website that you find but what really important is to exchange links with only high quality and related sites. Don't link to anyone just because he links to you, only exchange links if his website is related to yours and also provides quality stuff. But since our aim is to rank high in the search engines so I would advice you to try to exchange links with a website having a minimum PR 4.

But also don't say no to anyone just because his PR is 0 do exchange links if his site is related and is quality because a PR 0 of now can mean a PR 6 tomorrow. Always prefer a text link when exchanging links because search engines cant index dynamic ones and always try to use your most important keywords (that you want to rank for) in the anchor text of the links.

Directory Submission
What could be the best way to get free one way and quality links except getting listed in directories. Dont stay limited to Yahoo and Dmoz only there are hundreds of other quality free and paid directories that can give you a great link popularity if you get listed there. A list of such free and paid directories can be found at Free Directory Submission Links and Paid Directory Submission Links page.

However there are many automated tools that can submit your website to the directories but these tool are not recommended by me because these automated submission tools are not liked by the directories. So it is recommended that you use manual submission, but if you don't have this much time to submit to each directory by yourself then just hire someone to do this for you.

Best technical to built quality links to your site

Now link popularity is the biggest concern for all of us who have a web business and want to succeed, everyone is curious to get lots of one way and authority links because we all know that link popularity is the single most important factor that affects rankings in the search engines.
A site with good link popularity will always stay at the top of a site with less link popularity, however some other factors like Title tags, Description tags etc are still in the search engine's algorithm but they are only minor ones in front of link popularity.

Link building is a tough job and it becomes even tougher if we don't know from where to start and how to start. If you are really not panic about spending hundreds of dollars for building quality links then you can hire firms for doing this job for you but what if you are a small firm and cant invest this much for only getting a few links. Then following are some tips for you on how to and from where to get quality links:

Article Writing

Article writing is one of the best ways to generate lots of quality links. What you have to do is just to write some quality articles and have to distribute them online with your bio at the bottom containing a link to your site. This way you would not only get quality links but you will also get lots of traffic from people who would read those articles. So make sure to write as much quality articles as you can because quality sells, but if you don't want to write the articles by yourself then just hire a copywriter with a good track record for this.

Good copywriters can give you some real quality articles that may boost up your sales and they also distribute your articles online making sure you get maximum exposure. That's why this technique is favored by most of the webmasters.

Posting In Forums

Posting in forums is an another effective way to generate lots of quality links. This technique is sometimes highly profitable for ranking high in Google. Many times you will find that some websites belonging to the "most-highly-competitive" industries (such as domain registration, web hosting or seo industry) have achieved top rankings via the help of links from messageboards and general public forums.

So the idea is to find some high quality forums or message boards related to your industry and try to keep posting there. So whenever you post in forums you can post your links in the signature which can help your website to top rank in the search engines.

4 Tips to kick your Rank in top Search engine - must read

Links - Backlinks - OneWayLinks - MultiWayLinks - DirectoriesLinks

Whether you are a large corporate or a small one, if you need to rank high in a search engine you need to work hard on link building. Link popularity is the single most important factor that can effect your rankings in a search engine.

But always remember that quality is not in quantity. For generating quality links you should be loaded with tons of creative ideas and helpful tools to make your link building campaign easier. If you are one of those dude's who think that getting your site listed in thousands of FFA sites will boost your rankings, then beware they can't do you any good but can do a lot of harm.

So, you would ask that how can I build quality links then, here are some quick tips for quality link building which I personally use for boosting up my link popularity for my website.

1. Emphasize Text Because Content Is King!

The first step in a link building process is to have a good website loaded with tons of quality content and high quality services if your site lacks in quality content then make it one and if you want, take the help of an experienced copywriter with a good track record.

For a successful link generation campaign a rich content is a must for any website, without that you can suffer collecting links. Why? Because people want a reason to link to you, if you not have content why would someone like to you.

2. If You Want To Earn Something Stay Ready To Give Something

This is true. If you want to gain something you will have to invest something (not your money) give your visitors a solid reason to link to you, give some thing as a reward to the people who are willing to link to you. As an example -

Suppose that your website sells PHP, ASP, and other scripts then just give some free scripts as a reward to the people who are willing to link to you.

Or, if you sell other services then just give your customers a discount for linking to your website in exchange.

3. Article Writing As a Link Building Strategy

Article writing is the most easiest and effective way of link building, because if you emphasize on article writing you don't have to ask someone to link to you, people themselves will link to you if your article is to the point an well written.

Just write a good article related to your website's topic and just submit it to some article submission site's like: Goarticles, Ezinearticles and etc (always remember to include a link into your byline in your articles).

This way each time your article gets published on a site you get a link back to your site, a great thing about this is that you DON'T have to link anyone.

4. Link Exchange

Link exchange is an another effective way to generate quality links to your site, but the biggest evil of link exchange is that it is a HUGE time consuming process.

If you primarily emphasize on link exchange for generating links to your site then you're making an extra effort. But if you want to learn tips on successful link exchange then the following tips are for you:

Create a html page, preferably named as "Resources/Links/Partners" to see an example visit our resources page ( and place a link of this page from Index Page of your site. This page should never be more than 1 click away from the index page of your site, else webmasters won't be interested in participating in the reciprocal link exchange program.

Always exchange links with websites which have high PageRank (PR) (at least 3-4, the more the better!) (both Index Page as well as Resources/Links Page of the Link Partner's site should have PRs of >=4)
Always prefer a text link in comparison to a banner link, where your chance of Google spiders, i.e. Googlebot finding the potential keywords is limited only to the "alt tag" of the banner.

Also, Google pays importance to the text of the incoming link/anchor text (i.e. the incoming link text must contain high potential, relevant keywords), so develop a link text with title ("which includes your important keywords") which will help you in Google Ranking.

Don't link to anyone because he is linking to you, ONLY provide a link back to someone if he's site is related to yours and it offers valuable content to your visitors and DON'T reject to link a site only because it has a very low PR because today's PR 0 = tomorrows PR 6 (do link them if they offer useful content).

Who is your Bad Neighborhood which take you down

If you link to sites that are banned by Google for spamming, you are inviting the risk of getting banned for linking to a bad neighbor.

So first we should know that what is a bad neighborhood and how can we know that a site is a bad neighbor to link to before you get penalized by the search engines.

Bad neighbors are those websites who use unethical methods to get high rankings or are banned by the search engines for spamming. You should not link to a website if it uses unethical methods for achieving a high ranking in a search engine, spamming may work for them now but bet me it will not for longer periods. As soon, as search engines know that they are spamming they will banned and also the sites linking to that site may be penalized by lowering their rankings or even can be banned.

  • How the search engines understand that whether a site should be banned is a matter of controversy and those changes from time to time. Today a methodology may be ok, but tomorrow (in the next update) it may be considered unethical.
  • Google is one of the search engines that can classify sites as spam sites very quickly they can catch you as soon as you do it. If you exchange links with a site which has a PR 7 but it uses unethical methods so... what's going to happen, it may work for you now and you may also receive a PR of 6 but as soon as google catches that website. You may see your PR 0 in the next update.
  • You may heard of an ad network company, SearchKing. Their concept was to place text ads on sites that have a high PR score and use that PR as a way to gauge part of the value of the ad. An ad from a page with a PageRank of 7 cost more than an ad from one that had a PageRank of 6.
  • But, there was another effect of this network in Google's pagerank analysis system. When a site with high PR links to a site with low PR, a part of the importance is passed along to the site with low PR. Now when a high PR site feels another site worthy to link at because of the content, it is alright as it is the natural way to build PR. But in this case they were linking to poor quality sites against a payment and as a result in Google PR analysis, those sites were deemed as important one.
  • It was possible that after a certain period of time those not-so-worthy sites would have started to attain top ranks in the results, finally affecting the quality of the Google results. If they allowed this company get special treatment, the search results would get so messed up that they'd totally lose their relevancy after sometime. It was a threat to Google's successful business model.
  • Obviously, Google penalized the sites. SearchKing, the ad network site got a PageRank Zero penalty in the latest Google update. The main pages of the network of all hosted sites saw its PageRank reduced to half. These were the pages that had a high PR.
  • Their problem was that they were trying to sell and pass on the advantage of having a high PR to sites that may not be worth getting that importance.
  • So how do I classify who's a bad neighbor who's not?
  • We have already mentioned in this article some of the practices that are a reason for search engines to ban particular sites. But the “sins” are not only limited to being a spam domain. Generally, companies get blacklisted because they try to boost their ranking by using illegal techniques such as keyword stuffing, duplicate content (or lack of any original content), hidden text and links, doorway pages, deceptive titles, automatic-generated pages and etc. Search engines also tend to dislike meaningless link directories that conceive the impression that they are topically arranged, so if you have a fat links section on your site, double-check what you link to.
  • If you have outbound links to many different sites, such checks might take a lot of time. Fortunately, there are tools that can help you in performing this task. For instance, provides a tool that reports links to and from suspicious sites and sites that are missing in Google's index.
